here are the lights I bought to put on the bike.

of course I had to remove the mounting hardware for putting them on a car.

Here they are mounted. At this point I have yet to mount the turn signals. I just have bolts holding them in place to check fit, wiring etc..... The bulbs are 35/35watt scooter bulbs that i ended up soldering the wire to as I couldn't seem to find the right sockets.

low beams are awesome, but high beams shine a little wide (good for spotting deer)

I dunno. I just thought dual headlights looked cool, but to buy them online, they were like 200 bucks. Can't do it. I got about $35 wrapped up into these. The fog lights were $25, and the scooter bulbs were around 10. I was a little concerned about over-taxing the stator with 70 watts, but it works fine. I did replace the tail/stop light with an LED unit, so i may be within the output limits of the system. Wire gauge was not a problem.
I have put a few hundred miles on the bike since installing the lights, and so far so good.

You "could" wire them so that you could switch one off during the day to save stress on the stator and turn them both on only at night?

The HID's on my YZF600 are wired that way.

Dual headlights on an RD is the first I have heard of. You'll be sure to get some tilted heads from those that know RD's :D
